| The Band is delighted to announce the arrival of four new players. Peter
Long takes up the position of solo trombone with the band. Peter was formerly
a musician in the armed forces and upon leaving the forces moved to the
North East to take up a post in education. The euphonium/baritone section
has been strengthened by the arrival of talented euphonium players Clare
Winter and Sarah Robinson, who join from Greggs Bakery Band. The band's
former Solo Horn, Eileen Litster, has moved to the vacant Solo Baritone
seat and the position of Solo Horn has been taken up by Laurence Peart,
who joins the band from Greggs Bakery Band. Laurence is an extremely experienced
player who has played for Ever Ready, Fishburn and Chester le Street Riverside
bands. All of the new players are extremely welcome to the band as it moves
into 2008, where it's first contest will be the Butlins Mineworkers Open
Championship in Skegness. |
