The band’s first bank account is opened

They have to go all the way to Dean Street, Newcastle, to open an account at the Midland Bank.

Trustees Meeting Held June 12

 To consider correspondence & Agreement as laid down by the A.C.Company governing the purpose of Instruments and to adopt the resolution as set forth by the Company, it was moved by Wm Crawford Sec by Mr Tilley that we adopt the resolution which reads as follows, Resolved that a Banking Account for the Lynemouth & Ellington Silver Band be opened with the Midland Bank Limited at their Dean Street Branch and that the bank be and is hereby empowered to honour Cheques, Orders, for Payment, Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes drawn, signed, accepted or made on behalf of the said Lynemouth and Ellington Silver Band by Mr A E Halliday, Robt Tait, John McPhearson, John Tilley, William Crawford, Robt Simpson and to act on any instructions given by the persons so authorised with regard to any accounts or transactions of the said Lynemouth and Ellington Silver Band.

Further business was directed to the welfare of the Band in general and after discussion it was moved by Mr Balsden Sec by Mr Tindall that we write asking for Dates for Programmes at Hirst Park, Rothbury etc. The meeting ended, Mr McPhearson in the Chair.
