Concerts and Whist Drives
Fund raising is stepped up with the organisation of concerts and whist drives.
Committee Meeting Held Sep 10
Business was to consider the acceptance of a set of Instruments from Comrades Band. After discussion of the same the following Resolution was moved by G Thistle Sec by R Simpson, that we form a Sub Committee with Power to Act in the Inspection of the Instruments and transact business in the purchase of the same. The following were elected, Messrs Tait, Wilson, Ledgerwood, Moody, Johnson, Tindall.
There was also appointed a Sub working Committee for the organisation of Concerts, Whist Drives, Etc for the Band, all business to be referred to the General Committee. The following were elected, Messrs Ledgerwood, McPhearson, Tait, Lockyer, R Simpson, Shears, Crawford, Moody.
Mr J Warlow & Son were put forward by Mr Shears and were accepted as playing members of the Band.
There was a complaint from Mr Cooper not being notified of Band Meetings and it was moved by Mr Moody, Sec by Mr Thistle, that 3 notices be posted in the event of meetings being held. Carried.
The question of a yearly Concert was brought forward by Mr Thistle and after discussion was left over till some future date. The meeting adjourned.
Meeting Held Oct 3
Minutes of the last meeting were read and conformed.
The question of Mr Warlow was brought forward and it was agreed that he be seen about his non appearance at Practices.
It was moved by T Ledgerwood, Sec by Mr Green that we get the instrument from G Young.
The question was referred to in relation to the instruments at the Comrades Club and was left in the hands of the Sub Committee to investigate.
Agreed that we accept no responsibility in connection with Armistice Day.
Agreed that we thank Throckley Secretary for music sent on to us.
Moved by Mr Shears, Sec by T Morton that we write to St Hilda complimenting them on their success at Crystal Palace and ask for any old music they might have to help us on.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and conformed.
It was agreed that we see A Warlow about his non attendance at Practice.
Moved by T Ledgerwood Sec by J Tindall that G Young be finished with the band.
Agreed that the question of new Instruments lie over till future date.
